EXPERT ROUNDTABLE

The Rowan Foundation’s expert Roundtable, Informed Choices: Improving Contraceptive Outcomes for Women, brought together healthcare and academic leaders to explore ways to improve contraceptive care and decision-making.

The discussion focused on supporting healthcare professionals in recognizing the complex factors that influence contraceptive choices and empowering women to make fully informed decisions.

Topics included access, innovation, and contraceptive equity, along with the distinctions between long-acting and short-acting methods and the risks and benefits of hormonal versus nonhormonal options.

The Roundtable proceedings are available in both print and video formats.

SPOT A CLOT

Blood clots can be difficult to diagnose because they often mimic the signs and symptoms of other ailments. It’s important to be able to recognize blood clot signs and symptoms so you can seek care promptly.

The Rowan Foundation came up with a simple educational tool that uses just two letters — S and C — to help people “Spot a Clot,” or to be able to identify quickly the most common and potentially life-threatening symptoms of a blood clot.
