The Rowan Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of its 2026 scholarship program, created to celebrate talented young women whose voices, creativity, and perspectives can help shape the future.
Through the Alexandra Rowan Voices of Tomorrow Scholarship and the Alexandra Rowan Resilience in Writing Scholarship, the Foundation honors students who have shown promise in creative expression while reflecting the values of courage, insight, and authenticity. These scholarships were established in memory of Alexandra Rowan, whose love of writing and gift for thoughtful self-expression continue to inspire the Foundation’s work today.

Honoring Creativity and Voice

The Resilience in Writing Scholarship recognizes undergraduate women whose lives have been affected by blood clots or clotting disorders and who use writing as a way to reflect, connect, advocate, and move forward. The Rowan Foundation is especially proud of this award, which is the first scholarship of its kind dedicated specifically to students impacted by blood clots or clotting disorders. It reflects the Foundation’s commitment to ensuring that resilience, lived experience, and patient voices are recognized and supported.
Together, these awards reflect the Foundation’s belief that writing can do more than inform. It can heal, inspire, build confidence, and give voice to experiences that deserve to be heard.
Why Storytelling Matters
At the Rowan Foundation, we believe storytelling has the power to create connection and understanding, and we remain proud to support emerging voices and the power of self-expression to create positive change. A personal story can raise awareness, reduce isolation, and help others feel seen. Writing also encourages curiosity, empathy, confidence, and leadership. Young women who develop their voices today may help lead important conversations tomorrow.
